TV series to feature FAZD Center investigators and products

A forthcoming episode of State of Tomorrow, a 13-part series airing on public TV stations in Texas, will feature the FAZD Center's work to defend America's public health and national economy from the threats of engineered and exotic animal diseases.

Produced for public television by Alpheus Media of Austin, the series examines some of the biggest challenges facing Texans today such as energy, water shortage and K-12 education and features some of the best work going on at the state's largest public higher education and health institutions that addresses these challenges.

For this segment, the producers and a three-member television crew visited Texas A&M University, the FAZD Center's lead institution.

Producer Mat Hames conducted in-depth interviews with the FAZD Center's director, Dr. Neville P. Clarke, and its science leader for Biological Systems, Dr. Garry Adams.

The segment is tentatively scheduled for broadcast in April or May. The series is funded by the University of Texas System.
