Hagerman to make presentation at 2009 Risk Symposium
“Accounting for Risk in Economic Evaluation of Foot-and-mouth Disease (FMD) Mitigation Strategies,” an abstract by FAZD Center doctoral candidate Amy Hagerman, has been accepted for presentation at the 2009 Risk Symposium scheduled for April 7–9 in Santa Fe, N.M.
Hagerman assists FAZD Center principal investigator Bruce McCarl as a research associate in the agricultural economics department at Texas A&M University, host university for the FAZD Center.
The symposium’s focus is to create a forum of discussion for the theory and application of risk analysis to homeland security and defense. The meeting will include several speakers, focused lectures, and poster sessions.
Accompanied with abstract approval, Hagerman has been awarded a travel grant. Travel grants were limited and include a waived registration fee and $500 toward travel or hotel expenses.
Hagerman will have 25 minutes to present her research and 5 minutes for a question and answer session with the audience.
