Food and Agriculture Criticality Assessment Tool (FASCAT)
In collaboration with the National Center for Food Protection and Defense (NCFPD), the FAZD Center has participated in the accelerated development and deployment of FASCAT at the request of the Infrastructure Protection Office (IPO).
FASCAT is a system to help state-level decision makers assess the relative priorities of agricultural enterprises and overall systems as part of emergency response planning and funding. The system has been highly endorsed by USDA and DHS, and is being tested in 15 states. Plans are to continue distribution of the system, with the Center participating in the training of state users . Adoption is anticipated to occur in FY 10.
