This subject area describes many of the diseases facing animals today, as well the steps APHIS is taking to prevent, control, and eliminate those conditions.

      OIE is the intergovernmental organization responsible for improving animal health worldwide. It is recognized as a reference organization by the World Trade Organization (WTO) and in 2011 had a total of 178 Member Countries and Territories.

      The American Society of Animal Science fosters the discovery, sharing and application of scientific knowledge concerning the responsible use of animals to enhance human life and well-being.
    • The Multi-State Partnership for Security in Agriculture
      The Multi-State Partnership for Security in Agriculture (Partnership) is a collaborative forum of State Departments of Agriculture, State Veterinarian’s Offices, Homeland Security Advisors, Animal Health Departments, and Emergency Management Divisions created to encourage collaboration between states, federal partners and state agency associations.
