UK’s Institute for Animal Health will change its name on Oct. 4

The UK’s Institute for Animal Health released this  logo to announce its new name.

The Institute for Animal Health in the United Kingdom will change its name to The Pirbright Institute on Oct. 4, the institute announced recently.

In response, the institute will change its web address  www.pirbright.ac.uk. and its email suffix to @pirbright.ac.uk.  The institute said it is also moving its headquarters to Pirbright and is working on an updated visual identity.

“We are creating a state-of-the-art Institute on a single campus at Pirbright, Surrey, UK.,” the institute said in a statement. “The Institute will continue to carry out its world leading surveillance and research into virus diseases of livestock and viruses that spread from animals to humans. It will have the facilities and expertise to meet the known and emerging virus threats of the 21st century. Many staff have now transferred from our Compton Laboratory in Berkshire, UK where a move and decommissioning programme will continue for the next few years. At Pirbright, the first of several new buildings, a high containment laboratory for 150 staff, is nearing completion. Our new identity marks the beginning of a brand new phase in the 100 year history of the Institute.”

The institute is a partner of the FAZD Center.
