Today, we launch the FAZD Center Channel on Vimeo with our new video about the creation of the Matrix-Chaperone, an agricultural screening tool under development by principal investigator Dr. Michael Hogan at IntergenX in Pleasanton, Calif. The Matrix-Chaperone applies a dry storage process that will allow the collection and transportation of biological specimens such as blood or tissue without the need for refrigeration or cold packs. In this video, Dr. Hogan describes how IntergenX is adapting the dry storage technology to specimen collection, and how the tool could become a game-changer for medicine, science and industry. Funding for production of the video came from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate, Office of University Programs.
